About Me
I'd like to meet people in Northern and Central California who are interested in hunting, shooting, trucks and camping. I'd also like to meet good country type people from around our great nation.
I grew up in Western Pennsylvania where my family owned a garden center and a farm.
I've spent a great deal of time outdoors. After finishing graduate school in Pittsburgh I moved to San Francisco to work in technology.
Living in San Francisco, I miss "real" people who enjoy the outdoors and are not completely focused on making more money.
I am interested in weapons, martial arts and military strategy.
I like cooking and I love to eat (I'm Italian...).
While I love to cook lately I've been more interested in a healthy diet
as I try to get back to my old training weight. I miss fattening food
and alcohol! I prefer Italian, French Provincial/Country, Vietnamese
and Thai food.
I am a lifelong Steeler and Penn State football fan.
I consider both martial arts and shooting as forms of meditative
practice. I can appreciate why the ancient Taoists practiced archery.
I trained at the old Fairtex camp on Clementina Street for years until
it closed. I am now trying to get back into top shape and I still
practice and train regularly, but I miss training in a camp with
others. I'd love to hear from anyone I know from the old Fairtex camp.
I could see myself joining a camp again just to help keep my weight
down, do some light sparring and get some hard exercise.
I shoot in local service rifle high power competitions and hope to
shoot in local PPC and PRC events over the next year. I plan to work my
way up to 3 gun competition and other types of tactical matches. Any
NorCal shooters who shoot at CircleS have probably seen me there on
weekends. I also shoot at Chabot, Richmond Rod and Gun Club, San Leandro and Jackson Arms.
I'd hope to start shooting in the yearly competitions at Camp Perry
starting in 2009. The whole Camp Perry "experience" just sounds like so
much fun that I'd be happy to compete no matter how badly I scored. I
definitely want to shoot in the new M1A competition and "someday" I'd
like to also shoot the Wimbledon Cup (20 shots, 1000 yards prone, any
rifle/any sights); assuming I can borrow, buy, and/or build the gear
and find a place to practice LR closer than Sacramento.
My family comes from a small town in the mountains south of Rome, near
Gaeta and Monte Cassino, called Ausonia. Ausonia is a community located
in the Frosinone province of the Lazio region or, in Italian, the
Comuni of the Province of Frosinone. My family has lived in this region
of Italy for over two millennia.
Ausonia is a Greek and Virgilian poetical name for Italy which was the
territory of the Ausones, an Italic tribe of southern Italy whose
founder Auson, was a son of Ulysses (Odysseus). If your family is from this region of Italy, or you've lived in Italy
